Artist in Residence
The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe
The Artist Residency
One of my favorite parts of being the official Artist in Residence at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is sharing the creative process with guests. Most often, you'll find me painting in The Inn's lobby, where visitors are welcome to stop by, watch an original oil painting develop over time, ask questions, and learn more about my work.

Whether you're staying at The Inn, enjoying a meal, attending an event, or visiting from the local community, I hope you'll stop to say hello and experience the creative process firsthand.
A Working Artist's Studio
The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe has long been a place where people come to relax, reconnect, and enjoy exceptional hospitality. I'm honored to contribute to that experience by bringing a working artist's studio into the heart of the property.

Unlike visiting a gallery where the artwork is already complete, visitors have the opportunity to watch an original oil painting being created. Whether stopping for a few moments or returning to see the painting's progress, guests are invited to observe the creative process, ask questions, and experience something few hotels offer.

A Unique Experience at The Inn

VISIT DURING THE RESIDENCY
I paint regularly throughout my residency at The Inn.

Wednesdays & Saturdays
3:00–6:00 p.m.

Additional appearances during seasonal events and occasional pop-ins.

While I paint in the lobby most of the time, I occasionally move outdoors or to another location on the property depending on the weather or special events.

BESPOKE PAINTING EXPERIENCES
If you're looking for a memorable experience during your stay, I also offer Bespoke Painting Experiences at The Inn.

Designed for small groups, couples, families, and corporate groups, these private sessions provide an introduction to painting in one of Rancho Santa Fe's most beautiful settings. No prior painting experience is necessary, and each experience is tailored to your group.
Explore the Artwork
Many of the paintings I create during my residency become part of private collections, while others remain available through my gallery. If a painting catches your eye, or you've been thinking about commissioning artwork of your own horse or pet, I'd be happy to answer questions during your visit or you may continue exploring my work online.
Meet the Artist
I've spent a lifetime around horses as a rider, trainer, and artist. That experience continues to shape every painting I create, from expressive contemporary works to commissioned portraits for private collectors.

Beyond the studio, I've also spent years introducing people to oil painting through my company, Corporate to Canvas, leading creative experiences for businesses, nonprofits, and private groups throughout Southern California. Whether painting alongside hotel guests or teaching first-time artists, I enjoy making the creative process engaging, approachable, and memorable.

When I'm not at The Inn, I'm usually in my San Diego studio or painting at equestrian events throughout Southern California.
